A sight to behold as 50 birds or more may be seen in the skies at feeding times, their forked tails can be seen high in the sky circling before they dive down to feed. Outdoor ActivitiesThe diversity of outdoor activities in the area means there is something for everybody within a short drive. Whether it is walking, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, pot holing or simply taking a mountain drive you cannot but be amazed at the unspoilt beauty of this part of Wales.. Hay Bluff and Twmpa, the Black Mountains. Take a full day and walk both, starting from Hay town centre . Youâll end up on top of the world, with spectacular views across to Pen-y-Fan. Offa's Dyke PathThe path runs close to Hay and is a challenging but well worth route, passing some breathtaking scenery along the way. Wye Valley Walk This walk extends from Chepstow and crosses the Offa's Dyke Path at Hay, and continues to Rhayader, a total distance of 103 miles. Be amazed by what this quiet area of Wales can offer. The scenery along the walk will reveal unspoilt Mid Wales countryside at every turn.
