Enjoying a quiet setting in the lovely village of Boat of Garten, the spacious Woodland Lodge makes the perfect base for exploring the Cairngorms National Park, one of the most scenic and popular holiday destinations in Scotland. The village is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is known as the ’osprey village’, as ospreys nest in the nearby Abernethy RBPB Nature Reserve of Loch Garten. Lying next to the mighty River Spey, the village has two shops along with a selection of restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance of the house. The village also boasts a James Braid designed 18-hole golf course, along with numerous forest walking and mountain bike trails right on the doorstep.
The vibrant town of Aviemore is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and is only a few miles away and boasts a wider range of shops, restaurants and bars. There is also an array of outdoor activities nearby including skiing and snowboarding, mountain and quad biking, climbing and hill walking, as well as a variety of water sports on nearby Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey. Take a trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway, visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie or the Landmark Forest Adventure Park at Carrbridge, all within easy reach.
