With the choice of two sitting rooms, both with open fires, there’s plenty of space for everyone to unwind after a tiring day walking the high fells of North Scotland. In the kitchen there is a range cooker, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and television leading to a large utility area with extra toilet and washer/dryer, fridge and fridge/freezer. The kitchen also has a dining area which has French doors leading to the garden and also a separate dining room for those family mealtimes. All the bedrooms can be found upstairs and include an impressive range of layouts, including the master bedroom with super-king size double bed, fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower room with double walk-in shower as well as an extra super-king size double bedroom. There are also three bedrooms which can the option of being super king-size doubles or twin beds, serviced by two elegant bathrooms, one with a freestanding roll-top bath and large walk in shower and another with large walk in shower.Summertime is a true delight at this Scottish cottage, with 7 acres of fine gardens and woodland to relish in with a path leading to the forest track with plenty of nice walks to enjoy, plus outdoor furniture, seating and a barbecue to make the most of. Soak away the day as 8-10 people can relax in the wood-fired hot tub and enjoy watching the flames flicker through the glass panel. There is plenty of wildlife to see around the property, with red squirrels, which are a regular site in the garden, they feed on the three feeders, otters can be found in the nearby ponds, as well as ospreys, golden eagles and other exotic wildlife to be seen. There are a pair of breeding sea eagles in the vicinity of Rowan House. The local area is steeped in history, with a wide selection of castles and is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast with several cycling, kayaking, fishing and walking opportunities. For fishing enthusiasts a 5 minute walk takes you to Rowan Houses' own stretch of river, where you can enjoy trout and salmon fishing. For picking up any essentials, the village of Bonar Bridge offers the closest convenience store, along with a good selection of shops to browse including a high quality butchers, a Spar shop/ bakery, hardware shop and a doctors surgery. Turning left from the drive, you'll be able to get to the coast, and join the North Coast 500 route for some of the best landscapes in the world. Whether you choose to head to the far north and explore Cape Wrath or stay closer to home, there are always places to visit and things to do in this picturesque part of the Highlands.
