The 17th century cottage is located on a farm at the end of a no through road in tranquil Merstone. This is wonderful walking country footpaths lead alongside the River Yar and to the nearby picturesque village of Godshill, where the local pubs serve food and local ales. You are free to stroll across the farm s fields and around its lovely lake; a grassy area close to the water is a prime spot for a BBQ. Please note that the garden of the Manor House is private. A farm nature trail offers the chance to see wildlife including herons, geese, pheasants, chickens and even a rare breed bagot goat that will eat from the hand. The east coast resorts of Shanklin and Sandown are only a short drive away. Step through the entrance and you ll immediately see that this is a property brimful of character, with flagstone floors, a large inglenook feature fireplace and attractive staircase leading up to a pretty galleried landing. The ground floor lounge/diner is an open plan space furnished with a comfortable sofa and armchairs, a TV/DVD, plus that fabulous feature fireplace. On the other side of the room you will find a table and four chairs. A well equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, while there is also a washer/dryer available for your use. There is a pretty twin bedroom on the ground floor and further to this there is a shower room and WC this completes the ground floor accommodation. Up two flights of wooden stairs there is a lovely double bedroom with open views across the fields. At the front of the cottage there is a pretty walled courtyard with garden furniture, while a small gate opens into a fenced garden comprising lawns and shrubs. There is space for two cars to park in the cottage s private drive.
