This attractive Grade II listed cottage is situated in a quiet leafy lane in beautiful countryside, but is only one and a half miles from the centre of the small seaside resort of Shanklin, on the east coast of the Island. Shanklin has an extensive sandy beach with a variety of restaurants, tea rooms, public houses, quaint shops and traditional seaside entertainment. The Cottage is surrounded by both fields and woodland blessed with great walks. Footpaths within a hundred yards of the cottage, lead to the coast at Shanklin and there is a particularly scenic trail across fields and downs to Ventnor, offering panoramic views across Sandown Bay. The pretty village of Godshill is also within a five minute drive and has a number of friendly public houses serving high quality food, teashops and charming shops. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard with oak floors, central heating, and exposed beams in the walls and ceilings have been retained. The welcoming sitting room is light and spacious, furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, a television with Freeview, a DVD player, a Bluetooth enabled CD player with USB charging points, an open fire and french doors which open onto a patio at the rear. There is a well equipped, open plan kitchen with oak units and a quarry tiled floor equipped with a ceramic sink, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer, plus a rustic dining area. The cottage has three charming bedrooms; one double bedroom on the ground floor with an en suite shower room, with a walk in shower, basin and WC; one king size double and one twin room upstairs, plus a family bathroom equipped with a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC. Central heating and electricity are provided without extra charge. The bath and shower rooms both have illuminated mirrors and top of the range Mira showers. There is an additional television in the upstairs double bedroom. Telephone and Wi Fi internet are provided. The cottage has a sunny, enclosed garden at the rear where visitors can relax there is garden furniture, an umbrella and a barbecue. A gate from this garden provides access through the arch, to the front of the cottage. There is also an area of garden at the front of the cottage and private parking space for two cars. Within one mile from the cottage is a post office, shop and telephone. A regular bus service runs half a mile away.
