Situated in a Site of Special Scientific Interest, which is rich in bird and wildlife, guests are welcome to explore the 10 acres of woodland grounds, with circular paths winding through the wild flowers and woodland. Relax by the riverside decking and enjoy the peaceful setting overlooking the waterside inlet that leads onto Horsey Mere. The properties are located just outside the village of Lessingham, still within close proximity of shops and an award-winning pub serving good food. This stunning location is perfect for exploring the best of Norfolk with its amazing coastline and famous Norfolk Broads.
The glorious sandy beaches at Sea Palling and Waxham, often visited by seals, are just 3 miles away. Sea Palling has shops, café, restaurants and jet ski hire. Wroxham, 10 miles, is the capital of the Norfolk Broads and has many waterside cafés, restaurants, shops and daily river trips available. You can also catch the Bure Valley Steam Railway here for a wonderful trip to the market town of Aylsham, or take the train to Cromer, which is a traditional seaside resort with pier and promenade. The nearest village is Stalham, with its supermarket, shops, cafés and restaurants. Quiet country lanes and trails are great for cycling and walking, with the Coastal Route popular with cycle enthusiasts. Historical attractions include many National Trust properties including Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Horsey Windpump.
Other places of interest include Sheringham, 25 miles, home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway and the National Trust Sheringham Gardens. Or visit the city of Norwich with its cathedral, castle, museums, galleries, restaurants, cinema, theatre and shopping with two malls and market square, or Horsey Gap (National Trust) where you can walk on the sand dunes and see the seals and pups on the beach (November - February).
