There is a large communal grassland at the front of the property, which provides plenty of space for family fun and a path leading to Bacton beach. The village of Bacton offers a children’s play area, and lovely walks can be had in Bacton Woods, the perfect place to enjoy a picnic and great dog walking trails. Nearby there are two pubs/restaurants including a Chinese restaurant/takeaway, a fish and chip shop, café and an ice cream parlour.
The traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 13 miles away, and Sheringham, 17 miles, are sure to make for a great day out. Cromer has a small zoo - Amazonia. Sheringham has a heritage steam railway to Holt. Sea fishing is available at Bacton beach, so be sure to bring your sea fishing rod! Wroxham, 13 miles away, known as capital of the Norfolk Broads, boasts riverside restaurants, cafés and shops. The waterways are rich in birds and wildlife and so are ideal for nature lovers, with daily river trips and boat hire available. BeWILDerwood at Horning is an outdoor adventure park, the perfect place for children to burn off some energy. Another firm favourite is the Dinosaur Park at Lenwade, offering both outside and inside fun, including a splash park for warm days.
Avid gardeners will enjoy The Old Vicarage Gardens at East Rushton, and Sheringham National Trust Park. Other National Trust properties including Felbrigg and Blickling Hall are close by. Visitors to the area can also enjoy the opportunity to spot hundreds of grey seals and pups along the shore at Horsey beach, between December and February. The city of Norwich is 21 miles away and offers two excellent indoor shopping malls, market square, theatre, cinema complexes, castle museum, cathedral, cafés, restaurants and pubs. Beach 700 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Located in Norwich, this cottage is by the ocean. Norfolk Motorcycle Museum and Stalham Firehouse Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Happisburgh Lighthouse and Cromer Pier. East Ruston Old Vicarage and Sim-Air are also worth visiting.
