Visit the traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 12 miles, and Sheringham, 19 miles, for fun at the seaside, or Wroxham, 12 miles, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads National Park, here you can hire a day launch or join a cruise and watch the world drift by.
In fact, you are close to the heart of the broads so you will find boats are readily available. Bacton Woods is close by, ideal for cycling, picnic opportunities and great for dog walking with miles of woodland trails to explore. Bird watching, golf and fishing all available locally. If you can tear yourself away from the beach you will find a string of other coastal habitats to explore including marshes, sand dunes and pretty quays. Head west to Cromer and discover the unspoilt Edwardian seafront, promenade, and pier, or venture a little further and take a boat trip to see the seals (seasonal) or enjoy a spot of crabbing on Blakeney Quay.
Head east and you’ll discover Great Yarmouth’s Golden Mile and all the fun of the fair and just a little further, Pleasurewood Hills, Norfolk’s only theme park. Enjoy a ride on the Bure Valley Railway from Wroxham and travel through the pretty Norfolk countryside to the bustling market town of Aylsham for a spot of shopping or lunch. With other attractions such as the tranquil Hickling Broad, Amazonia Zoo, BeWILDerwood, Dinosaur Park at Lenwade, North Norfolk Railway and the medieval city of Norwich all within easy reach you really will be spoilt for choice. After a busy day you can return to Ship Ahoy, relax in the sauna, or snuggle by the wood burning stove and enjoy the comfy sofas. Sandy beach, shop, pub, and restaurant 500 yards.
