Sea Palling 2.9 miles. Perched on the outskirts of the ancient fishing village of Eccles-on-Sea, Norwich, is this splendid detached house, Windyridge. All-ground-floor and sleeping up to six guests, Windyridge is a homely and contemporary setting for a group of family or friends to explore the beautiful city of Norwich and the pristine beaches along the Norfolk coast. Approaching the property, you will find ample parking for at least eight cars on the gravel driveway, where you can unload your bags and make the few short steps to the house to begin your holiday. Be welcomed into the contemporary living/dining room, where you can enjoy curling up on the large corner sofa and relaxing in front of the woodburning stove with your favourite film on the TV. The designated chef will have all they need to whip up delicious treats for the group in the fully functioning kitchen, which has a handy dishwasher making cleaning up a breeze! Gather around the dining table to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple and a board game, catching up and sharing laughs with the rest of your group. Windyridge has all sleeping arrangements covered, with a generous king-size room with day bed and TV, a double room, and a twin room, all beautifully decorated cohesively with the other rooms. Guests will benefit from a shower room, where they can freshen up after a long day at the beach and prepare to settle down for the evening with a cup of tea. Enjoy breakfast out on the decking area on the lovely picnic bench, looking out across the sand dunes, before heading down to the beach via the ramp at the end of the drive. Venture down to the small coastal village of Eccles-on-Sea, which rests on the east of the Norfolk coast, within easy access of neighbouring villages Happisburgh and Sea Palling. Take advantage of Eccles’ own beach, known to be one of the cleanest in Britain with sandy shores that are perfect for sandcastle building, dog walking and beachcombing. Take a stroll to the village of Happisburgh, home to the oldest working lighthouse in the UK, or the village of Sea Palling which has an award-winning Blue Flag beach with RNLI guards on duty every day, as well as being home to the lifeboat station itself. If you can tear yourself away, the market town of Stalham is just a short drive away and offers good selection of amenities as well as the Grade II Firehouse Museum, taking visitors through 173 years of firefighting history within the town, and the Museum of the Broads detailing the history of The Norfolk Broads. Just a little further is the town of North Walsham where you can get your heart rate up in the swimming and fitness centre or challenge your group to a game of bowling. Unleash your inner historian and visit the village of Blickling, home to the esteemed National Trust-owned Blickling Estate, the birthplace of Anne Boleyn, where you can tour the house, gardens and parkland. Windyridge is a peaceful home away from home, perfect for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
