This large semi-detached family house is situated in the quiet hamlet of Newholm approximately two miles from the historic seaside town of Whitby and about one mile from the sandy beach of Sandsend. It offers very spacious family accommodation and has three different patio's at the back overlooking the rolling countryside and the sea beyond.
Accommodation: entrance, porch, hallway. Off the hallway is a spacious lounge with working feature fireplace and French windows looking out to the countryside. From the lounge step into a light and airy conservatory, with stunning countryside and sea views. Next to the lounge is a large kitchen with a separate dining area which can seat up to 10 people around the farmhouse style kitchen table. From the dining room, doors open up onto a relaxing decked area with sitting out furniture ideal for those balmy nights and alfresco barbeques. From the hallway is a second sitting room with bed settee, television and DVD and a further bedroom with a single bed. There is a utility room with a separate shower and wash basin. Next to the utility room is a W.C. On the first floor are five bedrooms. The master bedroom, with a super king-size bed and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with air bath, separate double shower, toilet, washbasin and heated towel rail. There are also two bedrooms with double beds in each, plus a spacious twin bedded room and a separate single bedroom. The large family bathroom has a bath, separate shower, toilet and washbasin. Ample storage in all bedrooms.
Services: large American style LG fridge/freezer with icemaker and chilled water, Neff ceramic halogen hob and double electric fan oven, Sanyo microwave, Bosch dishwasher. Washing machine and dryer in utility room. Colour TV with DVD in both sitting rooms, radio/CD player. Oil central heating. Logs and coal for the open fire are provided. Bed linen is provided. A cot and high chair are available. Non-smokers only. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Parking for three cars in the drive and parking in front of the house.
The garden at the rear of the house looks over the surrounding countryside with uninterrupted views out to sea with the horizon being 24 miles away. A small orchard with apple, cherry and pear trees slopes down from the garden to the country lane at the bottom. For those who love walking, Bay View is situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire National Park and offers some wonderful scenic walks both coast and country from the doorstep.
A stones throw from Bay View is the local country pub and one of the oldest in the area......The Beehive Inn, where Keith and Mandy - the owners, will make you very welcome, Serving traditional English ale and, if you fancy a bite to eat, you can enjoy mouth watering food, expertly cooked by Chef Ben (Keith and Mandy's son) who learned his cooking skills at the Ivy Restaurant in London.
