Gunnerside is one of the prettiest villages in the Dales National Park. Surrounded by scenic walking, traditional farm meadows, pastures and fells, the Gunnerside Beck running through the village providing miles of glorious routes. Amongst the cluster of old stone houses, there is Ghyllfoot Tea Room and the village pub serves food at lunchtime and in the evening. Friday is market day on Reeth Green, where you can haggle away and find a range of unique local crafts and produce. Walkers will take particular delight in its location, on Wainwright s Coast to Coast trail, near the Pennine Way and with walking trails spreading out in virtually every direction from the doorstep, while cyclists will want to tackle the local mountain bike trails and famous Buttertubs Pass. This property dates back to the late 17th Century, seamlessly combining many of the original features, such as the stone built bread oven, exposed stone floor and the lovely old beams. Step inside the large farmhouse style kitchen, which is fully equipped with a oil Rayburn oven, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. There is plenty of room around the large dining table for your group at mealtimes. Behind the kitchen is a handy utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer.. An open staircase leads to the master king size bedroom with its old beams and a delightful en suite bathroom with a shower over bath and WC. Heading back down to the ground floor, head through to the cosy snug, an ideal place to sit back relax and admire the Swaledale views from the window, stoke the wood burner and settle down for the evening while watching a movie on the Smart TV/DVD. Next door, is the lounge with a warming wood burner, gather round with your group and plan the next day's adventure. Off the hallway is a lovely double bedroom with fabulous south facing views of the valley. Completing the ground floor is a spacious shower room with shower and WC. Up another staircase are the remaining bedrooms, made up of, a king size zip and link (which can be made into a 2'6" twin on request), a super king size zip and link (which can be made into a twin on request), and a double with a compact en suite shower and WC. Completing the property is the main bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC. Be sure to take some time to dine alfresco on the south facing terrace. Private parking is provided for two cars at the rear of the property and there is additional roadside parking (subject to availability) at the front of the cottage.
