Lavender House is a newly renovated Victorian mid-terrace property, originally built in 1856 and situated in the wonderful seaside town of Whitby. It is ideally located for touring the North York Moors National Park and the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast as well as the town itself. With many local activities and sights right on the doorstep along with a colourful harbour and striking Abbey to explore, this is the perfect location to bring the family or a group of friends for a well-earned holiday break. The interior of the property has a modern feel while maintaining aspects of the traditional Victorian design. The large, four-floor terrace property can be accessed from the front or rear. Enter from the front passing by a lawn and patio area then up the steps into a classic high ceiling entrance hall. Alternatively, there is an entrance at the rear, at street level, leading to the rear courtyard with patio furniture and is perfect for sitting outside on a sunny day. The ground floor boasts a large kitchen, with a table big enough to seat ten comfortably, and utility which gives plenty of room to cook, enjoy meals and relax among family and friends. It is amply equipped with a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and wine fridge. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer situated in the laundry room by the kitchen. Off the hallway you will also find a lounge with a beautiful large bay window, feature fire place, original coving and cast iron radiator. As this large property can cater for 8-10 guests you will find that the settee in the lounge converts to a double bed. On the ground floor you will also find a wet room with WC and basin which is ideal if you are sleeping on the ground floor. Walking up to the first floor following the original mahogany banister rail. There is a family bathroom which has a cast iron bath, shower and separate toilet. The first floor has a twin bedded room with original features. On this floor there is also a large lounge area with original fireplace, coving and cast iron radiators. This room is ideal for all guests to spend evenings in to relax and enjoy after exploring Whitby and the surrounding areas. From the large sash windows in the lounge you will see panoramic views of the town, surrounding area and the captivating Whitby Abbey. Moving up to the second floor you will find the second twin room and the master bedroom with king size bed and original features. This floor has access to a Jack and Jill shower room with WC and basin. On the top floor you will find the second double bedroom which has a king size bed. This cosy attic room has windows which offer sights across the town, abbey and out to the sea. The bedroom is also fitted with en-suite facilities. Full of modern style but with a twist of classic seaside character this spacious terrace property retains its original features with a stylish contemporary finish. A prime location in the centre of Whitby, close enough to the centre to walk in and far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle when you want to be relaxing. In the town can be found an abundance of independent shops, tea rooms, museums, bars, and restaurants. Don’t miss out on the many fish & chip shops serving fresh caught fish and famous Whitby Scampi. Whitby boasts safe sandy beaches, coastal cruises and an attractive marina with the grand, Gothic structure of the Abbey as a backdrop. The North Yorkshire steam railway is a 5 minute walk from the property and an experience not to be missed. This charming property, perfect for family and friends, is excellent for a weekend away and ideal to celebrate special occasions.
