Cornhill on Tweed has a wonderful village shop and Coldstream - just across the border into Scotland - has a large Co-op with a cash machine, good Indian restaurant (eat in or takeaway), Chinese takeaway, fish and chip shop, petrol station and of course, the Guards Museum. The Collingwood Arms in Cornhill has a bar, a bistro and a restaurant.
You can walk to the Tweed from the wood and there are several other decent walks that start outside your back door.
In a car, you can be in Berwick or on a beautiful sandy beach in 20 minutes and either Newcastle or Edinburgh in about an hour. If your interest is in history or the natural world then the Scottish borders, the Cheviots, the Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest are all on our doorstep and all provide excellent days out.
Golf, fishing and gliding can be found nearby.
We live in the Farmhouse next door and are available to sort any queries or problems but will not intrude on your privacy.
