Small boats can be launched from nearby Llangwm, a sleepy village with a long and colourful history, which nestles on the western bank of the Cleddau Estuary - Pembrokeshire’s ’Secret Waterway’. Once a fishing village, famous for oysters, cockles, herrings and its tough fisherwomen who sold their wares all over the county, Llangwm is now renowned for its annual Scarecrow Festival held in late June/July and a grand New Year’s Day firework display. There is a village shop/pharmacy, post office, pub serving good food - visitors welcome!
