Whether you stride or stroll off to the headland, skip down the path to the harbour or simply enjoy the garden, you will find this charming cottage ideally situated with it's superb views of the sea and islands lying off the coast of Pembrokeshire's National Park, and very close to it's renowned Coastal Path. Tastefully furnished with antiques and colourful fabrics, it is well planned and offers everything for a relaxing trouble-free holiday. The south-facing patio is bathed in sunshine, a place to share your breakfast with the robin and black bird, where you may prefer to lunch under the parasol, and (if you are lucky) a candle lit dinner is often possible. The large, lawned garden is so enticing that some hardly venture further afield, however the coastal path is a minute away, as is the path down to the harbour with safe swimming, sand and rock- pools at low-tide and 'crabbing', sailing, fishing.....
The bustling village of lower Solva has lots to offer - restaurants, pubs, shops, galleries, supplies, Restaurants, Pubs and Fresh Crab: Five minutes walk away is the village store and off-licence (open everyday 8 till late) here you can buy most essentials, it also has a Post Office section (norm. opening hours). New automated fresh local milk distribution point. The farm shop Penpant is 1.5 km away for fresh fruit and veg.
St.Davids has a good supermarket (delicious fresh bread baked throughout the day) and a lovely delicatessence. The closest large town, Haverfordwest has umpteen supermarkets, some providing on-line order. There is a local catering service that will provide wonderful meals as and when you require them.
In the village, four local pubs all provide excellent food in addition to the three restaurants that cater for those 'special' evenings. DOWN ON THE QUAI there is a licenced tea-room for snacks and sandwiches and, if you are lucky, you might manage to persuade a fisherman to part with some of his catch.
Just up the road from the cottage you can buy superb DRESSED-CRAB and lobster... an absolute MUST before you leave.
Further afield: Apart from the beaches, boats and coastal activities there are so many wonderful things to do and places to visit that it is impossible to list them all, but there are pottery's to potter in, chocolate factories to...well,.....eat chocolate in!, farms where you can feed and touch the animals, light-houses you can climb up, life- boats to explore, sheltered gardens to discover,.....
go-karts to whizz around on, the coast to view from an aeroplane, take a flying lesson, enjoy a round of golf, or have a family day at the fantastic theme park...
A FREE TOURIST JOURNAL is readily available in all shops, petrol stations restaurants etc. and will provide ALL the information that you can possibly require to make the most of your stay. READ IT WHEN YOU FIRST ARRIVE !!!!
