This delightful and large, detached country house is situated in the peaceful and rural countryside of the Brendon Hills, a short distance from Minehead. Ordway House is ideal for an extended family or group to come and enjoy all this area has to offer. There is plenty of space in the house for all to enjoy. Outside there is a covered veranda where you can sit and relax whilst overlooking the large lawned garden which includes several sitting areas, furniture, garden games, well stocked borders and wild areas. The house also benefits from an outside kennel area with a dog run. The village of Roadwater is a short drive or a pleasant walk away and offers a well-stocked local shop and a pub serving food. There are some very nice walks direct from the house into the surrounding countryside to be enjoyed during your stay. The local area offers plenty to see and do. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor. Visit the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy a nice walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in steam engines. Dunster Castle (NT) and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens and the deer park both make interesting days out, as well as Porlock and Porlock Weir. There are many beaches including at Minehead, Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Beach 4 miles. Shop 1½ miles and pub 2 miles.
