Pat’s Cottage is an attractive, 18th-century, semi-detached stone cottage, adjacent to the owners home, located in Dore, a desirable village placed just five minutes from the stunning countryside of the Peak District National Park, and 20 minutes from the city of Sheffield. The property itself has been sympathetically renovated retaining character and many original features, such as black beams to most rooms and low doors and ceilings. Throughout the summer months, the property is offered with the use of the owner’s outdoor heated swimming pool, perfectly placed in a sunny, mainly private location surrounded by a pleasant garden and lawns. Pat’s Cottage offers fine walking direct from the door, and is within easy reach of popular Peak District towns and villages, such as Hathersage, Hope, Castleton, Baslow and Bakewell. Ladybower Reservoir and the magnificent historic buildings of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall can also be reached in under 30 minutes. Dore village itself is just a 5-minute walk, and steeped in history being the location of a battle fought for England’s Crown. There are two excellent public houses serving traditional meals, and two first class restaurants for that special occasion. There are also good local shops, including a small supermarket, delicatessen, butchers, bank with multi cash point, hairdressers and of course a fish and chip shop. In addition, Sheffield has all the shopping and entertainment a good city offers, and for those wanting to leave the car at home is a direct 10-minute train journey from Dore station, which is located just 1½ miles from the door. Shop, pub and restaurant 350 yards.
There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.
