Situated on the outskirts of Rugeley in Staffordshire, is this delightful former smokehouse. The Old Smokehouse has been converted into a one bedroom property with a lovely light decor and modern fittings, ideal for a couple's retreat. Stepping through the front door, you enter into a small but well-equipped kitchen where you can rustle up some delicious meals or a hearty breakfast before starting your day. Once the evening draws to a close, retire to the spacious double bedroom to get some much needed rest or to cosy up and enjoy the large TV and a Netflix package available. Outside is a small enclosed garden with plenty of furniture to top up on that tan during the summer months, dine alfresco with the barbecue, or take a refreshing dip in the bubbling hot tub. Resting on the outskirts of Rugeley, you are well-placed for accessing a number of nearby country trails for long walks and cycling opportunities. This is the midlands premier destination for mountain biking, from relaxing family rides through picturesque valleys to the dedicated single-track of Follow the Dog and the Monkey Trail for enthusiasts. Further to this the Forestry Commission are currently working on an entirely new cross country trail which will be designed specifically for the Commonwealth Games in 2022. Discover The Birches Valley Forest Centre in Cannock Chase Forest, run by the Forestry Commission is the beginning of the Cannock Trail Centre which ranks in the top five trail centres in the UK and attracts thousands of riders from all over the UK. The site is also popular for its adult and junior Go Ape as well as off-road segways, and cafés, perfect for people of all ages. There are national events on a regular basis such as races and an annual music festival weekend, so make sure to see what's available ahead of time. A little further afield is the stately home of Shugbourough Hall and Western Park, also a National Trust property. The Chase also has a huge war cemetery which attracts visitors for all over the globe, not to forget the popular theme part of Alton towers, 24 miles away. The Old Smokehouse is an excellent choice for couples seeking to explore everything this wonderful area of Staffordshire has to offer.
