This is a lovely retreat for you to come back to, rest well and sleep well. Our character cottages are well equipped, comfortable and cosy, with crisp white bed linen and fluffy white towels; perfect for a romantic break, a family holiday, or booking all four cottages for inviting family gatherings at any time of year. Harness Cottage (ref 14742) is accessed through a stable door into the living room, and has a well-equipped kitchen with pretty views over the fields. Stable Cottage (ref 4533) is accessed through a stable door into the living room, and has views over the private garden. Granary Cottage (ref 5053) enjoys views over the front garden from stylish bedrooms. Chaff Cottage (ref 5054) has comfy sofa, well-equipped kitchen and views over the garden.
Located in a tranquil setting with views over adjoining fields, gardens and open countryside, guests can enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday in this ’getaway from it all’ location. Relax in the gardens where you can spot the abundance of wildlife that surround the cottages, including red deer, hare and wild birds such as falcons, kestrels, buzzards and the resident barn owl. Enjoy the outside furniture along with the freedom of the lawns and adjoining paddocks, and barbecue facilities are available in these areas for outdoor entertaining. There is a separate barn housing a rustic games room with pool table, table tennis, air hockey and a dartboard.
Ideally situated in the rural heart of Suffolk to discover the many and varied attractions. Just 5 miles from the market town of Stowmarket for supermarkets and the train station, and 2 miles from Needham Market where you will find the local farm shop, the popular countryside attraction of Needham Lake and independent shops. Suffolk has a wonderful heritage coastline with beautiful, quiet beaches and famous coastline attractions including Southwold with its lighthouse, pier, amusements and Sailor’s reading room. Aldeburgh, a pretty coastal town, is famous for good food, great fish and chips, Maggi Hamblings’ Scallop sculpture on the beach, and vibrant art and music scenes. Snape Maltings offers concerts of varying musical genres, with an emphasis on the work of Benjamin Britten. The historic market town of Bury St Edmunds is nearby with its abbey gardens, cathedral and lively market. Further west you will come to Newmarket which is the home of horse racing. Well worth a visit are the villages of Lavenham, Woodbridge, Dedham and Long Melford. A trip to Constable Country is definitely recommended to see Flatford Mill and Willy Lott’s cottage, which was made famous by the painter John Constable.
In Stowupland you will find a thatched traditional Suffolk pub, only 3 miles away, serving a good choice of classic pub dishes and blackboard specials, either in the bar or the restaurant. In the summer months the pub is within walking distance over the fields as the crow flies, and in the winter months don’t forget your boots! Aldeburgh beach is 28 miles away, which is a great run on the scenic A1120 tourist route passing numerous visitor attractions. There is fishing and golf available nearby. Shop 3 miles, pub 2 miles.
