A short corridor leads to a ground floor king size double bedroom, with a large walk-in shower room next door. At the other end of the building is a second shower room, and stairs up to the large master bedroom with king size bed, built-in wardrobes and brilliant views. Outside the patio offers a pergola, table, chairs, BBQ and great views, with some access to the owners’ tennis court next door included (see ‘Useful Information’ below for details).
LOCAL AREA:
The Old Stables is in the heart of Sussex wine country, with Upperton, Stopham and several other Vineyards all nearby. The South Downs Way passes just north of River village, and this location is just over 3 miles from the picturesque and historic town of Petworth, and 4 miles to Cowdray Park & Polo and the thriving market town of Midhurst, full of character and old world charm.

- Once you have placed your booking request, before we can process your booking we will require some simple additional details such as postal address, guest names and direct email. Please do not book if you are unable to provide this information, as we cannot offer a refund on this basis.
- Arrival and departure times are clearly stated. As our properties can be booked right up until the last minute, we are unable to confirm early check-in or late check-out requests until 24-72 hours prior to your arrival/departure. Should you prefer to guarantee any such request now, please add an additional night to the start and/or end of your booking.

- Pets: not allowed.
- Accessibility: There is one very low step (approx. 3cm) over the front door threshold. Bedroom Two is on the ground floor with an adjacent walk-in shower room (2cm step). Winder staircase (with bannister) to the first floor, opening directly into the room at the top. Other internal floors are even and level, with no internal steps.
- Kitchen facilities: single electric fan oven, 4 plate electric hob, fridge-freezer, slimline dishwasher, washer-dryer, kettle, toaster, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine.
- Tennis court: 2 hours of use is included on each full day of your stay. Times must be agreed with the owner in advance, but please note that play will usually need to be in the mornings. However some afternoon/evening play may occasionally be possible at the owners’ discretion.
- Garden and parking: 2 parking spaces are available on the gravel drive in front of the cottage. The Old Stables has a patio garden which is bordered by a trellis and white picket fence (not fully enclosed). Please respect the owners’ own private gardens next door by keeping within the cottage garden boundary.
- There is a swimming pool nearby in the grounds of the owners’ house, please note that the pool and surrounding terrace are strictly out of bounds. Please make sure children are supervised at all times.
- Please note that due to the nature of this Grade II conversion, there is limited and sloping height clearance around the bed in Bedroom One.
- 1 travel cot (please bring bedding) and 1 highchair are available on advance request.
- Iron, ironing board, clothes airer, and 2 hairdryers provided.

This cottage is located in Petworth. Weald and Downland Open Air Museum and Hollycombe Steam Collection are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Cowdray Park Golf Club and Stopham Vineyard.
