From steady romantic walks along the conduits and down to the reservoir to more rugged rambling over the hills and up onto the nab so whether you enjoy walking, cycling, appreciate birdwatching, wildlife/landscape photography, a budding artist or you simply just want want to enjoy a tranquil space away from the hustle and bustle, this landscape is truly inspiring, ready and waiting for you to enjoy....every season of the year!. Oxenhope is blessed to have beautiful church, fantastic local pubs, a delicious fish and chip shop, local farm shop...over on Marsh and of course the worth Valley railway, where you can explore the whole of the Worth Valley including the Brontë village of Haworth just the next village along, here you can find the cobbled main street full of shops, pubs and cafes to relax in and various amazing events running throughout the year or you could explore the rugged the moorland, rambling on well trodden paths. Just a short drive away we've got Hebden Bridge which is a delightful little location with traditional market days, coffee shops, pubs & restaurants, traditional sweet shop and so much more not to mention hard castle crags which is the national trusts wooded valley with 19th century Gibson mill at its heart. Harden is another small village near by where you can find St Ives estate, a country park which is an absolute haven for nature lovers and it's a wildlife heaven with a mix of wooded areas, meadows, moorland & ponds for casual ramblers(very dog friendly) it's also home to an 18 hole golf course, archery and cafe 'the ivy kitchen' (very dog friendly) also in Harden if you fancy a steady leisurely stroll around...woodbank garden centre is the place to go, dine in the restaurant or grab an ice-cream from the parlour, you can even take a step back in time and play on the 'old penny arcade' simply vintage and great fun for all ages!! A little further afield Shipley which is rich in history with salts mill galleries, restaurants, book shop and antiques centre or enjoy the splendour of Saltaires Roberts park, weir and canal or the famous 5 rise locks in Bingley also a bustling location with shops,cafes and pubs. Halifax offers a wide range of things to do from shibden park (dogfriendly) with it's boating lake quirky miniature railway and cafe to the piece hall an 18th century cloth hall which now houses history exhibits, shops, bars and restaurants. Now onto Ilkley (30-45 min drive) a beautiful place to visit with an idyllic river, shops, cafes and fine dining and not to forget 'bettys' for a proper Yorkshire afternoon tea absolutely delightful, you could also explore the famous Ilkley Moore. In Skipton (30-45 min drive) you will find immense history, rich culture, independent shops, famous market and of course the iconic castle!! You could even enjoy a scenic drive out to Bolton abbey or Burnsall (45-60 mins drive) both Riverside locations absolutely stunning places to visit. Malham village(45-60mins drive) simply beautiful, stunning walks, pub& cafe Malham cove & Janet's Foss walks amazing. Enjoy all this and so much more when you stay at Cuckoo cottage!
