The wow-factor is impossible to ignore at Arch Manor! This one-of-a-kind, magnificent, 18th century Grade I listed building was designed by the renowned architect, William Kent. From the moment you open the front door, you will be impressed, with intricate architectural details and lavish furnishings that make any stay here feel unique and special. With one bedroom, this enchanting property is the perfect choice for a proposal, anniversary, birthday, or romantic weekend!
Inside, every corner of this manor is overflowing with charm and character. On the ground floor there is an intimate kitchen and cloakroom, with an elegant dining table and feature fireplace, creating a delightful space to spend time. Vast double height ceilings create room for two stories of windows, flooding this homely room with natural light and allowing you to look out on the surrounding gardens.
An elegant stone, spiral staircase guides you past a shower room and toilet up to the first floor. At the top of the stairs, the elegance and charm will take your breath away. Boasting a four-poster, king-size bed, roll-top bath, open fire and cosy seating, every corner of this room is a dream. Whilst spacious, the warm natural wood of the beams and floorboards, makes the room feel intimate and cosy. Lavish curtains, shaggy rugs and decadent blankets all add a richness and indulgence to the space, which will make crawling out of bed in the morning, by far the hardest task of your day! Beautiful windows cut through the solid walls, framing views of the picturesque parkland that stretches out around you. There is only one thing to do in this beautiful room; relax.
Outside, Arch Manor benefits from its prime location within the magnificent Holkham Estate. A beautiful walk through the Estate will bring you to the majestic Holkham Hall, whilst pet friendly woodland trails lead you into the charming Holkham village, The Burnhams and onto Wells-next-the-Sea. For couples looking to indulge in the North Norfolk area, we cannot recommend a better place to stay!
This Grade I listed, one-bedroom property sits proudly within the beautiful Holkham Estate, with glorious views of the estate, as well as easy access to all the best sites North Norfolk has to offer!
If you can drag yourself away from the crisp white sheets and roll top bath, then you can make the most of the impressive Holkham Estate, with endless walking, cycling and site seeing to do. You only have to step outside your front door to appreciate the impressive parkland and woodlands that surround you. A beautiful walk through the Estate will bring you to the majestic Holkham Hall, whilst pet friendly woodland trails lead you into the charming Holkham village, The Burnhams and onto Wells-next-the-Sea.
The Holkham Estate is vast, offering 25000 acres of parkland and private gardens. Rich in history, architecture and wildlife, the charms of Holkham Hall are hard to resist! The seat of the Earl of Leicester, this elegant 18th century mansion is still a much loved, lived-in family home which visitors can also enjoy. There are 6 acres of walled garden, originally laid out by Samuel Wyatt in the late 1700’s. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the walking and cycling paths, the lakes, watching the deer, the tree top high ropes course with its swings, bridges and ziplines, rowing boats, canoes and kayaks on the lake and the woodland play area. It is an outstanding family excursion.
Of course, North Norfolk is renowned for its beautiful beaches and the beach at Holkham does not disappoint. It is one of the most unspoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the country. With a glorious semi-circle basin filling to form a spectacular shallow lagoon at high tides, this beach is famous for the closing scene in Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Shakespeare in Love’ and is also very popular with birdwatchers, so pack your binoculars if you would like to find some!
For an afternoon of pottering around the shops, Burnham Market and Holt are perfect. Overflowing with unique independent shops, welcoming gastropubs such as the Hoste, cute delis, cafes, and galleries, all around a delightful village green, Burnham Market is incredibly popular. Look out for the August arts and crafts fair with puppet shows and alfresco dining! Holt is another Norfolk gem, again with wonderful art galleries, eateries, and charm.
