*Corona Virus Update: All touched surfaces thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before arrival. Extra ventilation between guests. Staff wear gloves for cleaning.* This meticulously renovated Georgian house right on Midsummer Common is furnished to the highest standard and sleeps up to 6 guests. The home is exquisitely located in the heart of Cambridge's city centre, where very few residential properties are available. It sits in one of Cambridge's most famous terraces, overlooking the River Cam and Midsummer Common. It is flooded by light, due to its unencumbered east-west orientation.
Enjoy life minutes away from all of Cambridge's historical sites and bustling cafes, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Stroll across the largest green area right in the city centre and on your doorstep: Midsummer Common and Jesus Green, both running along the River Cam. Or just settle in at home, take a rest from the world, but look out from your house's many windows onto magnificent trees and open pastures (yes, the Common is still true to its name!). Bask in unencumbered natural light reaching you at all times of the day. Let the morning sun awake you in the upstairs bedroom and welcome you in the kitchen dining area or on the private terrace. Relax in the afternoon sun and sunset in the lounge or the large downstairs bedroom. The house is a typical Cantabrigian rarity - it was built and used for centuries as faculty housing for Peterhouse, one of Cambridge's oldest colleges. The painstakingly preserved Georgian is split across two levels, ensuring absolute privacy and timeless coziness in every room. Smart home features, underfloor heating and highest-spec electronics have been added to ensure maximum modern convenience.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and ready for you to use it. It comes with a modern kitchen island, comfortably seating all guests. It also opens up to the private patio, ideal to enjoy the sunset after a long day exploring Cambridge. On this floor, guests will find one double bedroom with a comfortable mattress. The living room is located on the first floor and comes with comfortable sofas and armchairs. The 2 sofas can also be converted into sofa beds sleeping 2 additional guests. On the first floor, guests will have the second double bedroom sleeping 2 guests. The bathroom is clean and neat, it comes with a shower and a bathtub, and it’s located on the ground floor. The home is also equipped with high-speed WiFi and plenty of space to get work done should you need it.
You’ll have access to the house at all times. Because the home comes with key box, you’ll be able to check in any time after 3pm, but please be mindful of noise after 9pm.
Please reach out through this listing if you have any questions, as I am always on call and available to my guests if needed.
Located minutes away by foot from all historical colleges, restaurants, pubs, cafes, museums and everything Cambridge has to offer. There's also a Waitrose 100m away, open 7:00-22:00 most days, and the newly renovated Grafton Centre nearby. To get to the Varsity Hotel & Spa with its amazing gym, wellness area and rooftop restaurant just take a 5-10 min. walk across the Common and Jesus Green.
All historical sites and museums are within easy walking distance, as the property itself is located in the city centre, within the characteristic bend of the Cam that contains all the city's historical colleges. On-street parking is available at no extra cost, but must be pre-booked. Bicycles can be rented nearby. Several bus-stops are within an 80m radius of the property. Cambridge Station is located outside of the city centre and is 20 minutes away by foot, or £8 and 5-10 minutes by taxi.
The home is spread across multiple levels and guests who have difficulties with stairs may find it hard to access the whole home. The home has lots of natural light and is beautifully bright throughout. Travel cots can be provided upon request but guests will have to bring their own linens.
Please, no parties or smoking. Please be respectful of the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 9pm. If these rules are violated we will charge guests to cover the security call out fee and any additional expenses to cover their misbehaviour.
