Cliff House, Vrbo's Holiday Home of the Year 2022, offers guests a luxurious, spacious and private living environment in which to enjoy cherished holidays, or to make lasting memories celebrating those important special occasions with close family and friends.
The house is completely private and offered to guests on a self-check in, self-catering basis. It is set in 1-acre of grounds with access and ample parking for 5-6 cars, all behind secure electronic gates. Guests can enjoy direct access to the beach below, via a stepped walkway through the gardens. The location offers complete freedom to relax without worry of disturbance or being overlooked.
Cliff House is a grand property, occupying more than 4,500 square feet of space over two floors, and providing an outstanding outlook over one of the best seascapes in Newquay. It can sleep up to 14 guests in total in 6 well-appointed suites, plus baby/babies in travel cots. There is also a separate private apartment located in another building within the grounds - complete with bathroom and kitchenette. This provides the 6th bedroom and is furnished with 1 super king bed and a pair of bunk beds, creating ample space to accommodate a family of 4. The apartment is reserved exclusively with the main house, so there will be no other guests on the property during your stay.
The main house has been oriented to encapsulate the breathtaking views from all aspects and is tastefully decorated throughout to complement the natural beauty of the surrounding land and seascape.
The open plan living areas are over 20 metres long and at first floor, consequently offering spectacular, elevated south facing sea views. The layout allows a seamless flow from the well-equipped and spacious kitchen, through to the living and dining areas.
The large sitting room and family room are ideal for relaxing or entertaining. Both have large Smart TVs, which proves useful for large groups with differing interests, or to have a separate space for children to amuse themselves safely.
Cliff House features an exceptionally large kitchen, perfect for catering for extended family groups. It's been thoughtfully designed with high-quality appliances, including a large American-style fridge freezer, dishwasher, 4 oven AGA, plus standard cooker and hobs. Preparing simple or even extravagant meals in this kitchen is a joy. The impressive central island provides a casual dining area for small groups, or a great spot to enjoy an aperitif while the cooking is done. An extensive array of cooking equipment, utensils, crockery and serving dishes are also provided.
The first floor also houses a large utility with laundry facilities, cloak room and gym, as well as the fifth guest suite.
French doors and bi fold doors open up from the dining and living spaces onto the south terrace with its far reaching views of Crantock Beach and beyond to the open sea. The large terrace is an idyllic spot for dining at any time of the day and has a large electric griddle - perfect for barbecues.
At lower ground floor there is an impressive, heated, indoor swimming pool, complete with swimming jet. The pool opens up onto the lower terrace with bi-fold doors, and has it's own shower room. A spiral stair case leads up to a small gym area with running machine and other basic fitness equipment.
In the main house, 4 of the guest suites are on the lower floor - all with access to the terrace, super king beds, and all with luxurious private en-suite bathrooms. The vast master suite enjoys a full-sized bathroom with lavish bathtub, separate shower enclosure, two WCs and a stylish double vanity. Guests staying in this suite also benefit from an elegant walk-in dressing room.
The grounds of the property are well cared for and the sloping site provides the perfect backdrop for an abundance of coastal plants and wildflowers. Cliff House has direct access to the sea from the garden, ideal for avid water sports enthusiasts and beach lovers. Whether you enjoy surfing, paddle boarding, swimming or kayaking, all can be enjoyed at a moment's notice with a leisurely stroll down the stepped pathway.
There is also a delightful Summer House at the bottom of the garden complete with cold water supply, WC, deck chairs and casual seating inside. Outside you will find a large decked area and half circular seating with a fire pit. The Summer House is a great spot for picnics and sundowners, or makes the perfect hiding place for a quiet afternoon of reading or watching the world go by.
The beach is accessible 3 hours either side of low tide and the estuary provides fantastic warm pools during the middle 6 hours of the tide cycle. Guests can walk across at low tide, or take the ferry from next door.
Cliff House's location makes it a convenient base for exploring Newquay and the wider Cornwall region. The stunning views and wildlife of the Pentire Headland is 50 yards from the gate, and Newquay Town Centre and Harbour are a gentle 15 minute walk away.
Located in Newquay, this vacation home is near theme parks and near the beach. Huer's Hut and Trerice are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Newquay Golf Club and Great Western Beach. Traveling with kids? Consider Blue Reef Aquarium and Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
