The nearest village is Kirkoswald, a fascinating location with a varied history concerning the church bell tower on the hilltop and the market charter from the 13th century. For walkers, the Eden Valley is brimming with potential adventures whether you are following the River Eden itself or tackling the varied routes cross country. Further afield, the market town of Penrith 9.5 miles away has independent shops, restaurants and a popular golf course as well as an exhibition centre and cinema. Cross the cobbled courtyard to reach the front door, and behind the traditional sandstone exterior is a comfortable living space equipped with everything you need to relax. Whitewashed stone walls, wooden flooring and a wood burner create a cosy atmosphere for unwinding on the sofa with a drink, and the attractive kitchenette is a delight for preparing meals. Featuring a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge and microwave, it is fully equipped to meet your culinary needs. There is a bistro style table for dining at leisure, or take your meals outside to one of the shared patios. Next, the bedroom is a sanctuary with a king size bed, storage, seating and a wet room style shower room with a shower and WC. The pretty shared gardens are perfect for stretching your legs after your evening meal with lawn space, patios and beautiful plants and flowering shrubbery. There is a shared BBQ for sizzling up a special supper, and secure storage for bikes. Laundry facilities can be found in the on site utility room, which is shared by three other cottages and consists of a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
