Here you will find a clutch of excellent inns, cafes and restaurants including a Michelin star awarded restaurant. Set out on foot to follow one of the many walking routes in the area, which take in Hampsfell and Eggerslack Wood and the Lake District Mountains. Or why not rest your feet and hop on the Lake Windermere steamer, which winds its way for ten miles into the central fells, passing Bowness and Sawrey along the way. The front door opens into a large hall, which steps down to the welcoming living areas. With plump sofas, a roaring wood burning stove (guests to provide their own logs), exposed ceiling beams and cosy rugs, the lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day outside. The kitchen is light and airy with a door leading out to the walled garden, while the conservatory is home to the dining area with riverside views. Upstairs there are two comfortable king size bedrooms, both beautifully decorated with antique furnishings and charming ornaments. The bedrooms share a stylish contemporary bathroom with shower over bath. Outside, to the front of the property, a small terraced area overlooks the river and meadow beyond. To the rear of the cottage is a lovely walled garden, such a private and delightful setting to enjoy the fantastic garden pod which has a heater in so you can enjoy the outdoors all year round, and a mini fridge to keep your choice of beverage cool too, there is also a table and chairs for enjoying al fresco meals that you can cook on the brilliant Kadai fire bowl and grill, the fire bowl can be lowered on to another frame if desired, so ingenious A small iron bridge crosses over to the opposite side of the river where there is a small private riverside bank for enjoying peaceful picnics surrounded by nature.
