Located on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Cockermouth, famed for being the birth place of William Wordsworth, his home is open to the public. Less than a 10 minute drive away you reach the Lake District National Park, you can explore the wonders that the lakes has to offer, from hiring a boat on Derwentwater to hiking up a mountain or just exploring the Solway Coast and all that the area has to offer. Within the town of Cockermouth, you have a variety of pubs, restaurants and shops to explore making this lodge ideally situated for your visit. You can try your hand at fishing for salmon and trout in the River Cocker directly in front of the lodge just obtain a permit, you can even watch the ponies and sheep as they graze in the adjoining field, a small play area is available for children. Entering the lodge to a lovely light and bright lounge/kitchen/diner with windows looking out across the river, the kitchen area is equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. The lounge area is spacious and comfortable with a sofa and chairs, TV/DVD and CD. The dining table has seating for four and is adjacent to the kitchen area. Leading from the lounge you can access a separate WC further down the hall and then you have the shower room with shower cubicle and WC. At the end of hallway, you have a single bedroom which can double up as a play room leading onto the double bedroom and the twin. Outside of the lodge you have a large decked area with table and chairs and a BBQ. There is a wonderful view on offer looking across to the river. Off road parking for two cars is available at the side of the lodge.
