If you’re looking for a luxurious, ‘boutique-hotel’ experience for you and 13 of your favourite people, in the heart of Windermere, with a stylish and chic bedroom & bathroom per couple, you’ve found it. A magnificent Victorian residence, right on the boundary between Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere on one side, and the village of Windermere itself on the other. Quality and sophistication give this period house a sleek, chic feel, with monochrome colours, quirky furniture and a fabulous 'wow factor'. The house's owner, a former journalist and cricket enthusiast, and has the theme running through the house, with the bedrooms named after historical cricket characters. Park 5 cars right outside (extra parking close by). Up to the entrance hall to this and two separate reception rooms, both with gorgeous modern wood burners to gather round. The sociable open plan kitchen with dining area features huge oven for that soiree, an island to gather round and discuss the day ahead, instant Quooker boil tap, large American fridge/freezer and all the usual fittings and equipment. This opens into a conservatory area, and then onto your terraced patio areas, perfect for a little al-fresco entertaining on warm days. There’s a fabulous dining table and chairs where everyone can eat and talk together – your own ‘private dining’. Off this area is what we call the den, with curved comfy sofa and a place to escape, watch Sky Sports or play a game or two! Upstairs you'll be thrilled by the eclectic choice of bedrooms and bathrooms. CARDUS: Named after Neville Cardus: the father of modern cricket writing and also a legendary music journalist. A ground floor room also with easy access to the living quarters. Light and airy, and featuring a roll top bath in the bedroom and separate shower room. GRACE: A bright airy room with original sash window, named for the most famous, notorious cricketer of the Victorian/Edwardian era. Ground floor, close to the kitchen, zip/link super king-size. A number of superb walks begin nearby, including the easy ascent of Orrest Head which promises spectacular views of Lake Windermere from the top. Bowness village sits on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere. Access to the lake is only a few minutes' stroll from the village centre at Bowness Bay, where hire boats come and go, and Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to both Ambleside and Lakeside.
