There are plenty of walks allowing you to explore the surrounding fells, or discover quaint villages and hamlets. Nearby is s Simpson Ground Tarn, a beautiful reservoir within small woodland, which is perfect for a walk and picnic. A short car ride brings you to the foot of Lake Windermere and the River Leven, where you will find numerous picturesque villages and Fell Foot Park. Here there are gardens, a cafe, fishing, jetties for mooring and hiring rowing and sailing boats, and the Lakeside ferry crossing. At Lakeside is the steam railway terminus and the Lakeland Aquarium. Nearby is the Lakeland Motor Museum. Head south onto the Cartmel Peninsula and follow the winding country lanes leading to the Victorian seaside town of Grange over Sands and Morecombe Bay beyond. A stone gateway leads you up a little path to the porch. Stepping into the lounge, you will find yourself in a room soaked in atmosphere. Oak panelled walls reflect the glow from the wood burner with plenty of comfy seating and a timbered ceiling. By day the sunbeams stream through the bay window; by night, with the lamps turned low, the fire roaring, it is the perfect place to chat or watch a Netflix blockbuster on the Smart TV. Across from the lounge you will find the attractive and stylish kitchen/diner. Fully equipped with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, delonghi coffee machine and electric slow cooker, preparing meals in this lovely kitchen is a joy, and you can dine in style and admire the beautiful views down into the valley. To the rear of the kitchen is a utility and boot / dog room with washing machine, tumble dryer, second fridge, extra storage and hooks for wet clothes. A door from the utility room takes you into the bike store, and then into the games room which features a snooker table, assorted puzzles and board games. There is also a WC just off the lounge. From the lounge you will find the original stone stairs leading upstairs, where you will find three comfy bedrooms. The first room has a king size bed, and two large windows looking out across the garden and glorious views of the fells. The second bedroom has an en suite shower room and sits to the front of the house. It has a super king size bed, which can be made up as two singles on request when booking. There is also a cosy twin room with wattle and beamed walls. The spacious bathroom features a fine claw foot roll top bath with shower over and WC. Heading outside the landscaped grounds are perfect to relax in, with paths taking you through the various areas and levels. Grass, gravel, shrubs and trees, along with a little tumbling beck, a small natural unfenced pond, an old beehive barn and beautiful views all combine to make a peaceful and relaxing space.
