Just one mile south of the property, the village of Hawkshead has a wide range of shops, as well as the interesting Beatrix Potter Gallery and the historic Hawkshead Grammar School, which dates to when William Wordsworth was a pupil. The shore of Lake Windermere is close by, offering plentiful opportunities for boat trips, water sports, hikes and cycling routes. On entering this charming 17th century farmhouse, you will find yourself in the spacious lounge, where you can snuggle in front of the cosy wood burner. With exposed beams, deep set windows, comfortable seating and TV/DVD this is a perfect room to relax in. To the rear of the room is the dining table, perfect whether you re sitting down to an evening meal or a lunchtime snack. In the stylish kitchen, you will find everything you may need including a large range electric oven and gas hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Granite worktops and limestone flooring give the room an elegant feel and there is a dining table perfect for family breakfasts, the electric stove effect fire set into the original cottage fireplace adds to the charm of this room. There is a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ground floor WC and plenty of space for storing bikes. Heading upstairs, you will find three lovely and cosy bedrooms, each with traditional exposed beams and a bathroom with bath and WC. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an elegant en suite shower room with WC. The second bedroom is a double and the third bedroom offers the flexibility of a twin zip and link beds (which can be made up as a super king double on request) and stairs lead down from this bedroom to a stylish wet room with bath and WC. Heading outside guests can enjoy the private lawn garden with views across the rolling countryside with a bench to take in the views and birdsong, there is also a table and chairs perfect for dining alfresco. There is parking for two cars directly outside the cottage in the gravelled yard.
