Brush up on the local history with a visit to Holker Hall & Gardens set amongst 200-acres of gardens or hop on board the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway for a scenic journey amidst the Lake District countryside. Those with children can take the car or short, fun train ride out to the Arnside & Silverdale AONB, where you will find a sandy beach, as well as easy walking trails with opportunities to spot wildflowers, birds and butterflies. Avid ramblers can don their walking boots can head for the national park, where they will be spoilt for choice by the selection of mountains to climb, including Gummer's How, Whitbarrow - Lord's Seat, The Old Man of Coniston and the slightly further afield find of Scafell Pike. Lake Windermere is also within striking distance, where you will find great attractions and activities for the entire group to enjoy.
