Cottage In North Devon, Appledore

Devon. Sleeps up to 3

This property is located in the lovely fishing village of Appledore, with its quaint narrow streets, attractive village quay where local fishermen can be seen returning with the day s catch, and choice of pubs and restaurants. Visitors can take the ferry across the estuary, taking them to the neighbouring village of Instow, where they will find the yacht club and a small, pretty beach. For a larger beach, Westward Ho! is just a few minutes drive away, and boasts a wonderful two mile wide sandy beach, complete with surf academy. This beach is backed by Northam Burrows Country Park, a wildlife rich area of sand dunes and salt marshes which makes a pleasant place for a quiet walk. The front door of this cottage opens directly into the welcoming lounge/diner, where the exposed beams, and warming wood burner help to create a lovely cosy atmosphere. However, guests can still enjoy modern conveniences, such as the TV/DVD, which can be enjoyed from the comfortable sofa. The property s kitchen, though modest in size, is both stylish and well equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, and washing machine. There is even a breakfast bar style table and stools here, perfect for enjoying coffee in the mornings. The shower room is also on the ground floor, with its shower cubicle and WC. Open tread wooden stairs lead from the lounge up to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms. The first room has a double bed, as well as plenty of storage space in the form of a wardrobe and two chests of drawers. The second bedroom is a restful single room. Guests should be aware that there are low ceilings and doorways throughout this traditional property. As is typical of this type of property in the village, there is no parking provided at the cottage, but there are public car parks close by.
