Situated on the borders of Devon, Dorset and Somerset, this lovely little cottage provides the perfect base for exploring these three counties and has something for everyone. Devon has a huge expanse of rugged moorland and rolling hills. The town of Axminster is just one mile away from the cottage and has a wide range of shops, inns, restaurants and a sports centre. The famous River Cottage is also not far from the property, where you can book in advance to dine or take part in a cooking class. The owner, Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall has also opened River Cottage shop in Axminster. For walkers, the Axe valley offers some lovely trails as well as walks along the Dorset and East Devon Heritage coastline. Abbotsbury Abbey, Crealy Adventure Park, Bicton Park, Burrows Farm Gardens and a wide range of National Trust gardens and properties are all within easy driving distance of your cosy Devon accommodation. The cosy barn offers one comfortable king size bedroom on the ground floor of the property and one twin upstairs on the first floor. The family bathroom, which can be accessed by two steps up and two down from the bedrooms, has a shower over bath and WC. There is also a separate WC within the property for convenience. The lounge/kitchen/diner has been tastefully furnished with polished wooden floors, TV/DVD, iPod dock and a woodburner to relax in front of (with the first bag of logs included). If you re staying in to cook rather than going out, the well equipped kitchen has an oven and hobs, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Outside is a small private garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Guests also have access to the owners large shared garden with play equipment, swings and a Wendy house.
