Visitors to the historic village of Minterne Magna will delight in exploring the stunning Minterne Gardens, which host a wide range of flowering plants, set in a beautiful Himalayan valley surrounded by rolling Dorset countryside. Home to a notable collection of rhododendrons, the garden is of particular merit in the spring with daffodils, bluebells, primulas, and ornamental cherries blooming under the canopy of trees. Visit the famous hillside giant in the nearby village of Cerne Abbas (2 miles), where you will also find local amenities. 10 miles away is the county town of Dorchester, which has a bustling high street, cinemas and museums. Charming Sherborne is also within 10 miles and has two castles and a striking abbey. This property forms part of the Minterne Estate and sits within an idyllic walled garden, which is accessed on foot. A private entrance gives access to the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This characterful room has a fireplace fitted with a wood burner, Smart TV, DVD player, Record player, radio and Amazon Alexa, a lovely space to relax and to dine just opposite. The kitchen is set to the right of the room and has a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Just next door is a wet room with a shower and WC. Winding cottage style stairs rise to the first floor and a mezzanine style bedroom which is set into the eaves. This spacious room has a super king size bed and lovely views, making it a wonderful space for two. Heading outside you will find a terrace, coal BBQ (coal fully stocked for your stay) with furniture and privacy screening. Beyond this, there is a shared walled garden with a lawn tennis court and a heated outdoor pool with a changing room. The pool is open from April to October, with access permitted between 10 am and 6 pm daily and access is private for Pool House guests between 12 noon and 4 pm). Access to Minterne Gardens is included, daily from 10 am to 6 pm. There is ample off road parking, within a shared yard approx. 20m from the property.
