A true coastal retreat situated on the stunning World Heritage Coastline between Chesil Beach and the Fleet nature Reserve, this well-designed property gives many opportunities to soak up the coastal views in comfort. The open plan living area has the most glorious views of the Dorset coastline that can be enjoyed from the large patio doors and panoramic windows. Take a cup of tea on the L-shaped sofa perfectly placed to enjoy the views, relax with a book or just enjoy a moment of peace here, a great way to start your holiday. There is a cosy log-burning fire for chillier months and a six-seater dining table to enjoy your evening meals amongst the clean white décor with maritime blue touches of colour. A well-equipped kitchen lets in further sunshine with a large sky light and is newly fitted with electric hob, dishwasher, oven and coffee machine, all you will need to cater for your guests. Out through the living areas double doors you will find even more opportunity to enjoy the fresh breeze and stunning scenery in your own enclosed seating area, a great spot to sit on the picnic bench with a local cider or browse the herbs on offer in the herb garden.
A comfortable double bedroom and a handy shower room, great for cleaning off muddy, sandy feet, finishes off the downstairs floor. Heading up the stairs will lead you to the master bedroom which holds a king size bed where you can spend a lazy morning looking out over the sea views, coffee in hand! A twin room with wood beams and a family shared bathroom with P-shaped bath and over bath rain shower finish the floor. Crisp bed linens and soft towels are provided throughout.
Set in the picturesque village of Langton Herring, you are within walking distance of a great local pub and a short drive to Weymouth centre’s bustling beachside activity. The Headlands offers peace and privacy whilst being a stone’s throw to Dorset’s bustling epicentre.
The beautiful county of Dorset is a popular tourist spot, an area known for its rolling dales, protected heathlands and breath-taking UNESCO-heritage Jurassic coastline. The property is within reaching distance of fabulous beaches, including the large, sandy shore of Weymouth Beach. Walk from the village to the Fleet Lagoon where you can take in the views of shingled Chesil Beach. Home to a mute swan colony, the lagoon is the only place in the world where you can walk through a nesting colony. Go aboard the Fleet Lagoon Explorer, a shallow drafted boat that runs daily trips for visitors looking to explore the protected marine life.
A visit to Nothe Fort is a must for history fans as Weymouth’s number one heritage site. Climb to the top for stunning 360-degree views of the coastline. With its maze of underground passages, on-site museum and impressive gun displays on the ramparts it’s well deserving of its 2021 Visit England’s Award for Excellence. Head to Weymouth Promenade after for some delicious fish and chips to be enjoyed by the seaside.
Weymouth Harbour is a picturesque spot to take a stroll around. Many companies offer boat trips, from fishing trips, coastline cruises or for those looking for a more thrill-seeking experience, why not hop on a Weymouth Bay RIB Charter for an amazing speed boat ride, be prepared to get wet! Down by the shoreline take a trip to Sand world Weymouth (seasonal opening hours) to marvel at the incredible sand sculptures at the world’s first sand sculpting festival with previous displays varying from Star Wars and Harry Potter scenes to Jurassic and Safari displays.
Take a drive to take in more of the glorious Dorset with a number of close-by towns which are well worth a visit including the lively market towns of Bridport and Lyme Regis. The famous Durdle Door in Wareham, is a natural limestone arch, is just over thirty-minute car journey away and is a must-visit while in the area whilst fans of Thomas Hardy could take a drive to Dorchester to visit the Dorset Museum which houses the largest Hardy Collection in the world, bequeathed by his wife Florence.
