Hoopoe Cottage is a modern 4 bedroom lakeside house in the exclusive Lower Mill Estate, a beautiful 550 acre nature reserve with an award-winning spa, indoor/outdoor pools and plenty of activities to enjoy.
Hoopoe Cottage sleeps 10 people with a maximum of 8 adults very comfortably in four bedrooms, with a travel cot available for a baby or toddler. It is the perfect location for multi generational family groups.
The large rear deck with frameless balustrade keeps little ones safe without affecting the view and faces south west with sun all day from around 11am, perfect for sunset drinks. This leads on to our private jetty to access the lake, which is suitable for kayaks, paddle boards or Canadian canoes etc.
The living area opens out to a decking area overlooking the lake, and two of the bedrooms have a shared balcony with 2 egg chairs to enjoy the stunning views over the lake.
The open plan living area has a wood-burning stove, 40 inch TV with Freeview channels and a chromecast, with ultra-fast fibre broadband. There is a sofa suitable for 4 adults with a further 4 additional armchairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dining table that can comfortably seat 8 adults with 2 high chairs available.
Ground floor: Kitchen, living/dining room and bathroom.
First floor: 1 king bedroom with ensuite, 1 double bedroom, main bathroom and a children's bedroom with a single bed and bunk bed.
Top floor = 1 king bedroom with ensuite, with pop up single bed available.
Travel cots available on request.
The house is suitable for a maximum of 8 adults as the bunk bed is not suitable for adults.
We are environmentally conscious and our housekeeper uses only vegan and biodegradable products.
The house is located in the heart of the exclusive Lower Mill Estate, and a 2 minute walk to the luxury spa and swimmings pools and the on-site cafe/bistro Balihoo. It is centrally located to take advantage of the tennis courts, MUGA play area, outdoor playgrounds, trampoline, soft play barn, 7 lakes, on-site water sports equipment and bike hire, abundant wildlife, and lovely walks.

Lower Mill Estate and local area: We can supply a wealth of ideas about local attractions and activities to make your holiday even more special. There are regular events and festivals at Lower Mill Estate, mainly themed around its wildlife and ecological commitment. There are lake beaches nearby, sailing/windsurfing/waterskiing/kayaking lessons, golf, angling and many more active pursuits. For quieter days out, there are stately homes, a safari park, Roman remains, great shopping, and wonderful local pubs and restaurants.
Private chef's are welcome to come to the house and recommendations can be provided.
The whole house is for our guests' exclusive use, with access to Lower Mill Estate's on-site spa with 3 pools plus all the other estate facilities included in the price. Spa treatments, soft play and activity hub bookings are at an additional cost and can be booked directly via the Lower Mill website.
To preserve tranquility the Lower Mill Estate has a Code of Conduct that all guests must adhere too, including no bookings of single sex groups over 6 people. Anyone in breach of the Code of Conduct may be fined or asked to leave the estate immediately.
We provide contactless entry via our Ring doorbell and electronic lock.
Located in Cirencester, this vacation home is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Cirencester Roman Amphitheatre and Swindon and Cricklade Railway are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Lakeside Ski & Wake and Combat Splat. Traveling with kids? Consider Royal British Legion Remembrance Garden, or check out an event or a game at Cirencester Park Polo Club. Jet skiing and water skiing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with ecotours and horse riding nearby.
