Weir Cottage is a lovely Cotswold stone cottage, right in the heart of beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water, the "Venice of the Cotswolds". This character filled property is ideal for friends and families seeking a relaxing holiday in the lovely Cotswolds region. A highly sought-after gravel driveway with space for up to three small cars welcomes you on arrival before you enter the front door and into the reception hall which has low ceilings and is ideal for storing coats and muddy boots. The sitting room has been designed for relaxation, with ample seating for you to unwind on in front of a toasty open fire and catch up on your favourite show on the flatscreen TV. The chef of the group will have a great time rustling up the evening meal in the well-equipped, spacious kitchen which has everything you will need during your stay, before you all move into the connecting conservatory which houses a wooden dining table and leads out to the peaceful patio garden, where you have the choice to dine alfresco, which has a lovely lawn area with surrounding plants and flowers. In the evening, head up the stairs which cover a small hallway containing a tumble dryer, and choose from one of the two lovely bedrooms in the eaves of the cottage; the master contains a king-size bed and the second bedroom which contains super-king-size can be a twin on request. Once you’ve got some well-earned rest for the night, head to the tastefully decorated bathroom, to enjoy a relaxing bathe in the large, welcoming bath which is accessed up a small step and is the feature of the room, before heading downstairs to make yourself an awakening coffee using the Nespresso coffee machine. No more queues for the bathroom, as the first floor houses a convenient cloakroom containing a basin and WC. A short stroll from your front door you will find a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants and tea rooms, such as Cotswolds Antiques and Tea Room and Coach & Horses pub in the lovely centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds” as well as Birdland Park and Gardens which is just outside your door, where you can surround yourself by wildlife. Nearby Lower Slaughter is widely regarded as one of England's most beautiful villages with picturesque cottages lineng the banks of the River Eye which flows from Upper Slaughter through Lower Slaughter, home to The Slaughters Country Inn which is a well-regarded, quintessential country inn, offering lovely food and drinks. Stow-on-the-Wold is the highest of the Cotswold villages, and is a small market town with an array of boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants; you can visit the Fosse Gallery to admire an array of contemporary British art, indulge in a bite to eat and drinks at The Stag at Stow, or revel in the scrumptious tea and cakes at The Old Bakery Tea Room. Burford, known as Southern “gateway to the Cotswolds” is perched upon a hill and the high street is lined with charming antique shops, boutique stores, and cafés, here you can visit Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens where you will find over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays throughout the park.
