Manor Cottage is a quintessential Cotswold stone cottage, located in the heart of the peaceful, rural village of Poulton, within the grounds of Poulton’s beautiful manor house. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has been refurbished to be the perfect holiday home for families and groups of friends who are seeking a beautiful base from which to explore the lovely Cotswolds. Park-up in one of the two off-road parking spaces that sit right outside the cottage before making your way through the private garden pathway that leads you up to the oak front door, where you can load your luggage into the hallway and kick off your boots, ready to enter into your home-from-home. Step into the large, welcoming sitting room, where you can kick back and relax on the enticing seating, surrounded by character features including oak beams and flagstone flooring, as the warming, roaring fire keeps you warm and toasty on a cold evening. Moving through into the kitchen/diner, you will find all the necessary appliances you need to concoct delicious meals for your loved ones, including an AGA, which also heats the cottages water, as well as a dishwasher to make cleaning up a breeze! Dine at the large wooden dining table with your group and enjoy a glass of your favourite wine to get your holiday started! When the night draws to a close, head up to the first-floor and tuck the children into the twin beds in the second bedroom where you’ll also find a handy full-size day bed (available as a bed on request), before heading to your night-time retreat in the stunning four poster king-size bed to lay your head to rest, ahead of a busy few days that lie before you. Indulge in an invigorating rinse in the bath where you’ll find a shower over, before heading down to make yourself a warming mug of coffee to be enjoyed in the crisp morning air in the beautiful gardens. You will find a mixture of lawns and patio area, surrounded by bushes, trees and Cotswold stone walls, as you take a seat at the bistro table and enjoy total peace. Poulton is surrounded by beautiful countryside and although small and rural, it has a Post Office, a popular pub and a children's playground close to the cottage. Nearby Cirencester is the largest of the towns and is known as the ‘capital of the Cotswolds’, supporting a wide range of amenities, where you can visit the Cirencester Antiques & Collectables Market, or take a stroll around Cirencester Park which forms the Bathurst Estate and is a picturesque country park with plenty to discover and do, and finish off with a refreshing tipple and meal at The Bear Inn. Make a visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens where you will find over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays throughout the park in nearby Burford, known as Southern “gateway to the Cotswolds”. Venture further afield to the regency town of Cheltenham which offers a wide range of attractions, shops, restaurants and pubs, and is perhaps the most well-known being the Cheltenham Festival, one of the top horse racing events in the UK.. For a wonderful stay that you and your loved ones will cherish, make Manor Cottage your base.
