Offering stunning sea views across The Solent all the way to Cowes, this character home, next to the owner’s home and which was formerly a fisherman’s cottage, is one of a row and offers a scenic base to explore the area. The pretty enclosed garden is a great spot to enjoy the fantastic view and the nautical activity, as well as glorious sunsets. Leading from the rear of the garden, from a gate at the back, there are steps all the way down to the beach, which is shingle at high tide but has a sandy area at low tide. It is a great walking area for all the family, including your four-legged friends as the beach is very dog-friendly! A popular bistro pub is only 300 yards from the cottage!

Inside, there are many ornaments, quirky artifacts and personal touches, including magazines, books and games. The open plan ground floor area has a well stocked kitchen/dining area, cosy living room with concrete floor, underfloor heating and rugs. There is also a shower room on the ground floor which is handy if you are coming straight off the beach! Upstairs there is a further bathroom and two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a high lofty ceiling and French doors to a balcony, where those superb views can be savoured.

This area was known to be a smugglers haunt and later where coastguards aided seafarers. There is so much to do in the area. The harbour nearby is known as one of the south’s leading venues for water sports including sailboarding and kite surfing. Peaceful walks can be enjoyed along the River Meon and the South Downs, and the well known nature reserve, Titchfield Haven, is also nearby for those who enjoy birds and other wildlife. For keen cyclists, the National Cycle Network 2 is easily accessible.

There are various pretty villages in the area, the nearest being Titchfield which has traditional butchers, tea rooms, a convenience store, a 8th-century church and Titchfield Abbey. Places to visit within easy reach are the New Forest National Park with its open heathland and roaming cattle and ponies, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Marwell Zoo and Southampton with the West Quay Shopping Centre. Portsmouth, with Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays with its shopping, leisure and entertainment facilities, waterside dining, ferry to the Isle of Wight and the famous historic dockyard with historic ships including the Mary Rose, is also worth a visit. For all the family there is Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park, and the cathedral cities of Winchester and Chichester are also within driving distance. Beach 50 yards. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
