The harbour nearby is known as one of the south’s leading venues for water sports including sailboarding and kite surfing. For keen cyclists, the National Cycle Network 2 is easily accessible.

Places to visit within easy reach are the New Forest National Park with its open heathland and roaming cattle and ponies, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Marwell Zoo and Southampton with the West Quay Shopping Centre. Portsmouth, with Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays with its shopping, leisure and entertainment facilities, waterside dining, ferry to the Isle of Wight and the famous historic dockyard with historic ships including the Mary Rose, is also worth a visit. For all the family there is Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park, and the cathedral cities of Winchester and Chichester are also within driving distance. Beach 50 yards.
