Tucked away on a forest track on the outskirts of Brockenhurst, this end of terrace cottage was built in the early 1900s. Recently it has been carefully refurbished with a view to honouring its past while bringing in more light and space. Two wood-burning stoves contribute to the cosy cottage atmosphere and a light, airy sunroom makes a great place to relax overlooking the delightful garden. Being right on the forest means you can spend the day wandering miles of heath and woodland and in the evening potter down to the village for a meal or snuggle in with books, music or TV. Before you go to bed, we suggest you turn out the lights, enjoy the stars and hear the owls call. Cycle tracks are also close at hand.
Please note that the unmade road can be a bit bumpy and there is a 90 metre path from the parking space to the house. The owners will willingly help with luggage and most online grocery stores will deliver right to the door (our wonderful village greengrocer will also deliver a box). If a car-free holiday sounds appealing, Brockenhurst station is a 20 minute walk or 10 minute cycle ride away - transport to and from the station can be arranged on request.
Please note that access to Owl Cottage is via an unmade gravel track. Please drive carefully as there may be potholes.
