In the heart of the New Forest, enjoy beautiful walks and cycle rides from the doorstep and keep look out for donkeys, ponies and the occasional Highland cattle wandering past the house! Relax paddling in the local streams or visit a beach, the nearest is only 8 miles away. Village amenities are a quick stroll away and include: a greengrocers, butchers, convenience stores as well as a good selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
The house is a short walk from a mainline train station, bus stop and bike hire so if you want to leave the car behind getting about isn't a problem.
A large, open plan kitchen, dining/family room with bi-fold doors leading onto a large south facing garden. Plenty of room for all of your group to relax together in one space.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, double oven, gas hob, T.V., and micro hi-fi. There is also a selection of baking trays and an electric food mixer in case you have been bitten by the Great British Bake Off bug. A large slow cooker means that you can prepare a meal and leave it to cook while you go out and enjoy yourself for the day.
Bi-fold doors open from the kitchen onto a large patio with just a small step down. The patio has a large table and chairs so that you can enjoy eating outside in the garden. A BBQ is also provided. The rest of the large, south facing garden is laid to lawn with plenty of room for adults to relax and children to play.
The living room seats 8 and is equipped with a TV, and digital radio. You can also sit and relax and keep watch out of the large bay window for ponies, donkeys and cows walking past.
The house has a downstairs bedroom with a zip link bed which can be made up as either a super king size bed or two full size singles. There is also a downstairs shower room with a walk in shower with low profile shower tray, toilet and basin which may make this property suitable if someone in your party has restricted mobility.
Upstairs there is a bedroom with a king bed and en-suite, a further double with a view out over the garden, one single room, one room with bunk bed and a family bathroom. Please note that the upper bunk is recommended for over 7's only and up to a maximum weight of 12 stone/70kg but we do not use it for adults.
A selection of games and books are available for all age ranges if you want to spend a night in, and maps of the area, walks and cycle routes are provided to help you plan your days out. The property has off street parking for one car.
Wanting a car free holiday? The property is only a short walk from a mainline train station. South West trains run a regular service from Waterloo to Weymouth with stops at Sway, Ashurst, Southampton, Poole and Bournemouth amongst others. Cross Country trains run from Manchester to Bournemouth and stops include Winchester and Southampton. There is also a local branch line to the Georgian market town of Lymington from where it is possible to take a ferry to the Isle of Wight. Cycle hire is available within a short walk of the house.
Nearest beach is 8.1 miles. Local attractions/activities include: Peppa Pig World and The Lost Kingdom Dinosaur Theme Park at Paultons Park; Lymington Salt Water Swimming Pool with inflatable obstacle course; Longdown Activity Farm; New Forest Reptile Centre; New Forest Museum and Visitors Centre; Beaulieu Motor Museum, Palace House and Garden; Bucklers Hard Maritime Museum; Hurst Castle; New Forest Activities Centre; Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum; Furzey Gardens; Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway; Highcliffe Castle; New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park; Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary; St Barbes Museum and Art Gallery; Go Ape and Segway at Moors Valley Country Park; golf; horse riding and fishing.

Autumn - Pannage. Usually the third week in September, pigs are released into the forest to eat the acorns that have fallen to the ground to protect the ponies to whom acorns can be poisonous.
