Nestling in the beautiful Black Mountains just north of the Brecon Beacons National Park, in the village of Craswall. Pop to Longtown for local produce, a short distance down the road or to Hay on Wye where you re bound to find any book you can think of. Try out Booth s bookshop with its small cinema and cafe. The town is full independent and local shops, cafes and great events including the renowned Hay on Wye Literary Festival. Stroll the local paths or hike to the summit of Pen y Fan, the highest point in South Wales. Train enthusiasts will love the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway and don t miss out on the Big Pit Mining Museum. History, culture and outdoor activities are in abundance here. A unique experience awaits you in this quirky cabin set by the small wood on this 17 acre farm with horses, donkeys and chickens. Walk through the enclosed garden down to the wooden porch with rocking chair and into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Wood panelled rooms, checked curtains, intriguing artworks, Western saddle and cowboy library to read through, it s an interior where the American frontier lifestyle meets the Welsh borders with all your creature comforts to enhance your stay. If you decide to eat in there s a small electric oven and hob, fridge and Belfast sink. The water will need to be heated on the hob for washing up though, a small chore in this lovely setting. The dining table and chairs are perfectly positioned by the window to enjoy a hearty breakfast. The electric shower, with WC, is a great way to start the day. After a full day exploring just relax on the sofa, lose yourself in a good book, watch a film on the TV/DVD or just snuggle up by the wood burner. The cosy bedroom has been designed for a good night s sleep with double bed and dreamcatcher on the wall. Outside the enclosed garden is sided by trees with a paved area, grass, seating areas on the decked porch and table and chairs for al fresco dining. The range style fencing is across the 17 acre sanctuary farm with horses, donkeys and chickens. Walk down to the water hole for wild swimming, meet with the owners for private donkey picnics in the wood or find out more from the resident horse listener. This is a unique and special place for a couple to retreat and unwind. Private off road parking for one car is available at the property. If you are bringing your bikes you can lock them by the side of the cabin. The owners are on site though privacy is assured.
