From the kitchen, take in the stunning rural views across the rooftops out towards the Black Mountains in Wales over the orchards and hop fields of the Herefordshire countryside, whilst sipping your freshly brewed morning coffee. For those more special evening meals, why not sit in the characterful dining room with oak table and comfortable chairs. Follow the carpeted staircase up, where you will discover three well-presented and comfortable bedrooms, comprising of a master bedroom with king-size bed and stylish en-suite, a double bedroom and a charming single bedroom. On the first floor you will also find a luxurious family bathroom, complete with a bath, shower over, basin, heated towel rail, ambient lighting, and WC. The outdoor space is ideal for a refreshing evening drink, relaxing in the sun with friends or enjoying the delights of alfresco dining, and taking in the spectacular sunsets out towards the Welsh Mountains. For local amenities, there is a choice of two pubs within an easy 5 minute walk from the cottage, both serving a range of meals and offering a selection of local beers, ciders and gin. A well-stocked shop can be found within 1.3 miles of the property, just a 3 minute drive away, down in the popular village of Colwall. The village of Upper Colwall lies towards the top of the Malvern Hills on the western side. It boasts 2 excellent village pubs. The Wyche Inn, listed in the Good Beer Guide is situated at the top of the hills with stunning views out over Malvern, across Worcestershire. The Chase Inn has welcoming fires, fine ales, good hearty food, and a garden with stunning panoramic views out across the beautiful Herefordshire countryside towards the Welsh Black Mountains. Well behaved dogs are welcome at the pub. For those that wish, there is a Waitrose located just a quick 5 minute drive away down in the centre of Great Malvern. Chalk Cottage sits towards the top of the Malvern Hills, and boasts an excellent range of walks on the hills a short distance from the cottage itself. The location of the property affords easy access down into the picturesque and historic Great Malvern, where you will find a wide range of restaurants, pubs, cafes and independent shops to browse. Great Malvern is also home to the Malvern Theatres, which regularly receives shows from the West End, concerts, gigs, ballet, and cinema. The Three Counties Showground and all it’s events, is a short drive from the property too. Dotted around the hills and Malvern itself are the water wells that Malvern is famous for, as well as the gas lamps that inspired C.S Lewis Narnia. It is also said that the Malvern Hills were the inspiration for J.R. Tolkein's Middle Earth in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. A further drive away is the cathedral in Gloucester where filming for Hogwart's took place. Ledbury, an historic market town, an easy 12 minute drive away is on the Guardian's list of best European shopping towns, with unique shops, cobbled alleyways and the historic 17th Century Market House on stilts. Walk up the famous cobbled Church Lane to the church and enjoy a coffee, lunch or a drink at one of the many excellent coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. Chalk Cottage is a tranquil property, promising to provide you and your loved ones an unforgettable holiday to the area. Malvern and the surrounding area boasts a huge range of activities, ranging from walking and cycling on the hills, to local vineyards, breweries and cider tasting. There is even the luxurious Malvern Spa where you can book yourself in for a variety of treatments, or for some well-deserved downtime. Many lovely walks and cycle rides can be enjoyed from the doorstep of the cottage with the Worcestershire Way and Three Choirs Way both running close by. Malvern is also home to the world famous Morgan Motor car, whilst Eastnor Castle is home to the Land Rover Experience, where you can test drive a 4-wheel drive around the Estate. Chalk Cottage is easily reached from the M5, Junction 7 (Worcester South), and by train, with direct lines between London Paddington/Birmingham to Malvern/Colwall.
