Battel Hall is a detached, 14th-century medieval hall, that has been stunningly renovated to provide comfort and relaxation whilst retaining some fascinating historical features. In the entrance hall you will find a medieval laver, a stone carved basin which once would have been used to wash your hands before eating. The retable at the top of the stairs depicting five female saints and one male sadly was defaced during the reformation, but the original hangs in the castle chapel and is only one of five in existence. Relax in the drawing or morning room and marvel at the exquisite hand painted DeGournay wallpaper. The bedrooms are uniquely styled with breathtakingly beautiful en-suite facilities, fresh Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy white towels complemented with Noble Isle toiletries.

Battel Hall is a fabulous countryside retreat perfect for wedding parties, reunions with friends and family or corporate events. Catering can be arranged in the oak panelled dining room with a roaring wood burner and seating up to 14 guests.

Enjoy the private garden during the summer months for a game of croquet or simply relaxing and taking in the views with drinks on the terrace. Within the 500-acre Leeds Castle Estate grounds, you can access the Knight’s Realm playground, where children can let off steam. Climb the Maiden’s Tower, just along the aerial runway and explore the secret tunnels. Lose yourself in the spiralling yew maze and underworld grotto of shells and mythical beasts, plus a turf maze where toddlers and smaller children can play. Take in a free flying falconry display or explore the gardens, castle and grounds after the daily guests have gone home. Additional activities include a 9-hole golf course, a hot air balloon ride (Apr-Nov), Go Ape! zip wire adventure, a Segway tour, a ride on Elsie the Castleland Train or hop aboard the Black Swan Ferry Boat, all at cost. Be sure to visit the castle shop for a special gift to return home with.

Located just 5 miles from the county town of Maidstone, take the opportunity to explore beautiful villages, historic castles, houses and market towns. Indulge in some local oysters at Whitstable or spot seals off Herne Bay. Canterbury with its historic cathedral is a short drive, or head towards Ashford for some discounted designer retail therapy. Kent boasts sandy beaches as well as good road and rail access to London for further sightseeing opportunities. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
