Beautifully nestled in the glorious Kent countryside is Wealdean Retreat, a magnificent country home dating back to the 17th century, proudly set in 3 acres of gardens in the heart of the Weald. With charming, period character, and an eclectic mix of handpicked pieces of furniture and artwork, curated together to create a truly unique, and luxurious countryside abode in which friends, couples and families can come together in the most beautiful of settings. Wonderfully social, yet with nooks for one to slink away and have some ‘me’ time, whether that be with a good book in the cosy snug, catching up with the outside world in the study or choosing a pocket of the garden to sit and take in the countryside air. Whilst there is also plenty of space to come together, with the magnificent dining hall playing host to fabulous meals, cooked by the keen cook of the group or a menu put together by a local chef, all while the wood burner roars away in the background with the most beautiful character beams overhead and original floorboards underfoot, or watching a much loved film in the sitting room come evening – a wonderfully light filled space come day, with views over the picturesque grounds.
Designed with socialising in mind, the kitchen, a chef’s delight, is open plan to a comfortable living area with sumptuous sofas, and a view towards the dining hall, with centre island, Aga and separate oven/hob offering plenty of space for cooking or preparing breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, with doors opening out onto the patio terrace should you want to enjoy a meal al fresco. With the impressive staircase sweeping you up to the galleried first floor, with a high, Velux ceiling tumbling light down below, and leading you to five glorious bedrooms, one of which cleverly transforms with a drawn curtain from a snug into a double bedroom. Each with its own unique personality, from vaulted beam ceilings to the original fireplaces, together with individually picked colours, pieces of furniture, artwork and fabrics. A few steps from the main house sits the charming annexe, with additional living area, kitchen and bedroom for those that seek privacy from the main house.
Proudly set in 3 acres of beautifully manicured gardens, alongside green lawns – ideal for competitive garden games, blooming flowers, mature trees and plants spring into life, with a large patio for sitting or dining whilst admiring the grounds beyond. Tucked away in the corner of the gardens, a vegetable patch, often plentiful with vegetables and herbs, bordered by fruit trees, which keen cooks and exquisite children will delight in. Dine together, relax on the lawns or sneak off for some peaceful time alone, Wealdean Retreat allows plenty of space to relish in each.
Lying between a landscape of picturesque gentle valleys and ridges between the North and South Downs, sits the charming village of Hawkhurst, with an abundance of beautiful walking routes nearby and a local pub within a mile of the house for evenings dining out, with a choice of eateries in the centre of the village. Should you be able to draw yourself away from the beautiful interior and manicured grounds of Wealdean Retreat, there is much to see and do in the surrounding area, from Bedgebury Pinetum and Bodiam Castle, both 10 minutes by car, and the historic Scotney Castle Gardens and Bewl Water a few minutes further, whilst the charming market town of Tenterden and bustling Royal Tunbridge Wells are within a 30-minute drive.

Located in Cranbrook, this cottage is in a rural area. Cranbrook Museum and Morgan Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Go Ape at Bedgebury and Bewl Water Outdoor Centre. The American Garden and Rye Farm World are also worth visiting.
