It’s convenient setting makes it an ideal base for walkers, fishermen and nature lovers. The Speyside Way runs along the riverbank here and goes from the Moray coast to Aviemore. There is a 9-hole, 18-tee golf course one mile away at Ballindalloch, with other superb courses less than an hour away. Within easy reach are the ski slopes of the Lecht and Cairngorm, or by contrast enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches of the Moray Firth around Lossiemouth and Nairn, where the famous Moray Firth dolphins can be regularly spotted. Visit the fairytale Ballindalloch Castle, two miles, or the ruins of Drumin Castle and its walled garden. The malt whisky trail starts close by, with Cragganmore Distillery less than one mile from the house. There are very good shops including a delicatessen at Aberlour, nine miles, large supermarkets in Elgin, 25 miles, and Inverness, 47 miles. Salmon fishing is available locally (at cost, licence required). Local store, post office, fuel station and pub/restaurant within one mile.
