The owners have lovingly decorated and furnished this delightful cottage to a very high standard, offering exceptional comfort and style. The master bedroom boasts views of the river with a backdrop of panoramic views of the rich wildlife and Norfolk marshes, a king size bed with a Somnus Viceroy luxury mattress and a Sky Q TV. The double bedroom overlooks the beautiful, decked garden and the summerhouse, which is affectionately known as ‘the Gin Palace.’ This bed also provides great comfort with its Harrison Spinks Luxury mattress. On the ground floor you will find a light and airy sitting room, a stylish bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen. From the kitchen you can step outside into the lovely, decked, terraced garden where you can relax in privacy. At night, it’s perfectly lit for evening drinks or a touch of al fresco dining and if you weren’t already spoilt enough, the owners have thoughtfully provided seating in the front garden which is the ideal suntrap from which you can watch the boats drift by on the river.
When you stay here you may be tempted to rest up, read a book, unwind, view the birds and the wildlife on the marshes or just watch the river life pass you by, but should you manage to tear yourself away you will find much to see and do in the area. Within a few minutes’ walk the village offers a choice of two pubs serving local food and ales from the village’s own Humpty Dumpty Brewery, and either side of the cottage are two charming tea rooms.
Within the Norfolk broads there are miles of much-celebrated waterways to explore, and you can hire a day boat or even join a tour and float along these famous stretches of water. The property provides ideal access to the Norfolk coast, and you will be able to see for yourself why it is so popular, with a trip to explore beautiful sand dune beaches. You are also within easy reach of the Suffolk Heritage coastline, so travel a little further and you can enjoy a spot of people (and seagull) watching on Southwold Pier. Add in visitor attractions like Thrigby Wildlife Gardens, Caister Car Collection, great golf courses and fishing opportunities, along with some lovely walks and cycle routes, and you are soon to see why so many people come to this lovely part of Norfolk. In fact, you will have to return just to fit it all in. And when you do you are sure to return to Riverside Cottage, where you will already have made some lovely memories.
