The attractive Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and racehorses. Much of the history surrounds its Norman castle, so you can explore this after watching the horses as they make their way to the gallops every morning. The pretty cobbled market square offers a range of shops, pubs, and places to eat. The bustling market town of Leyburn is just 2 miles away and offers a variety of great shops and pubs, or why not take some time to explore The Forbidden Corner (2.5 miles), a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, and surprises set amidst 4 acres of grounds? A superb base for exploring Wensleydale (16 miles) and all within 40 miles of York, the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Heritage Coast. Approaching the impressive house, you are greeted by a grand front door and upon stepping inside, the entry hall sparkles and the chandelier flickers stepping onto the period tiled flooring, this one of a kind entrance hints at the delights that lay ahead. Throughout the house, you will discover stunning interiors and a relaxed charm that creates a truly grand atmosphere. Make your way into the magnificent lounge, a cosy room with many comfortable sofas, a Smart TV, an open fire, and original decorative features around the room. Open the double doors to continue through to the grand dining room and gather around the generous table with space for everyone to sit and chat about that day's adventures. Throw open the back door into the courtyard space to enjoy socialising inside and out. Bring back some local produce and prepare a Yorkshire style feast in the kitchen, all beautifully built in with that classic country look and complete with electric range style oven and hob, fridge, two dishwashers, and microwave. There is also a washing machine for those holiday practicalities. This home is full of surprises and if you're looking to relax after a long day out and about, there is a sauna tucked away, just what you need to warm you through and unwind. Venture up the spiral staircase to find one of many hidden rooms, a double bedroom with spectacular views out to Middleham Castle what a view to wake up to. The bedroom comes with an en suite shower room with WC, just what you need in the mornings to be ready and raring to go. Returning to the main hallway, a corridor leads off to another double room which is partnered alongside a spacious and mesmerising bathroom with a roll top bath, handheld shower, and WC. This is where you will spend many an evening relaxing, bath brimmed with bubbles and a glass of your favourite wine in hand.
