Staithes 2.4 miles. This sumptuously-decorated, detached lodge of No 27 The Crab Pot rests in Runswick Bay near Staithes, North Yorkshire. A fabulous base for a family of six's seaside break, not only does The Crab Pot enjoy access to the east coast of the North York Moors National Park but is within reach of the iconic locations of Scarborough and Whitby. Upon entering the lodge, you'll be immediately dazzled by the contemporary and sleek décor in the open-plan living space. Kick back and unwind on one of the plush sofas in front of the toasty electric fire and TV, while floor-length windows flood the space with natural light. Continue to the fantastically-fitted kitchen, where shaker-style cabinets enjoy sleek, wooden worktops and offer a wealth of integrated appliances, including a built-in microwave and a large fridge/freezer. When a delectable meal has been prepared, enjoy it at the stylish breakfast bar, with its cowhide stools, at the dining table with the whole family, or in the warmer months, out on the decking. At the end of the day, retire to one of the three tastefully furnished bedrooms, the first being the master with a double and an en-suite shower room, along with a lovely twin and a family room featuring a bunk bed and a single bed. The family bathroom isn't far and is a contemporary space boasting a spacious bath with rainfall shower over. Spend some time in the village of Runswick Bay, where a friendly pub, along with a gorgeous beach await, as well as access via The Cleveland Way to the larger bay, where Kettleness Beach can be found. Continue to Staithes, a charming seaside village boasting amazing sights, including the Captain Cook & Staithes Heritage Centre and a wonderful, sandy beach; venture along the cobbled streets to find your amenities, including the traditional pub of The Fox & Hounds. Be sure to visit Whitby, a coastal town with so much to offer in terms of views and history; unwind on Whitby Beach, climb the 199 Steps to find the Abbey of Whitby, which inspired 'Dracula', or embark on a hike along the renowned Cinder Track trail. The delights of Ravenscar, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay await along the coast, where plenty of seaside activities can be found; alternatively, head to the North York Moors National Park for a plethora of outdoor adventures.
