If you can tear yourself away from your luxurious base, two miles away is Clun where you can have a pub meal or picnic near the river and castle ruins before embarking on the Clun Valley Heritage Trail. There are half a dozen Walkers are Welcome towns in the vicinity, of which Clun is one, but if you fancy heading further afield then the charms of Ludlow are a 20 mile ride away.
